5 TONS OF SCULPTURE FROM OROŃSKO

Introducing the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko at Art Market Budapest 2016

 

sCULTURE, the special sculpture section and outdoor park at Art Market Budapest is entirely dedicated to the POLISH(ed) guest program introducing a selection of Polish contemporary art in 2016.

A spectacularly rich outdoor exhibition was prepared in cooperation with the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko. The show presents a representative collection of monumental sculptures created by 16 Polish artists, including some classics of whom Magdalena ABAKANOWICZ, Guest of Honor at Art Market Budapest 2016 is best known, others representing the top of the mid and young generation. The sculptures, objects and interactive installations are figurative and abstract, several of them have been specially designed and created for Art Market Budapest 2016.Adam GARNEK’s Turbine, Krzysztof BEDNARSKI’s Brahmaputra, Maciej ALEKSANDROWICZ’s Look around and Marek ROGULSKI’s Dice are interactive constructions.

The Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko is a national cultural institution devoted to sculpture and spatial art. Orońsko is the place where many Polish artists made their debuts. Open-air artistic workshops and multimedia project promoting young Polish art have become vehicles for the development of artistic careers of many of Poland’s artists.
